U.S. Marines hike with a combat load to the next checkpoint during the 14th annual Reconnaissance Challenge on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, April 28, 2023. To honor their fallen comrades and support the Gold Star families through their struggle, reconnaissance Marines and veterans participate in a 25-mile obstacle course throughout Camp Pendleton that tests their physical limits and enhances camaraderie.
