U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Tanner Westort, a rifleman with the Ground Sensor Platoon, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, uses a ground based observational surveillance system to observe simulated enemy vessels aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) for a strait transit and Defense of the Amphibious Task Force (DATF) drill during Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (ARGMEUEX) while underway in the Atlantic Ocean, April 26, 2023. DATF integrates Marine Corps and Navy capabilities, including aircraft, crew-served weapon systems, snipers and electronic warfare, to defend the ships in a wide range of combat situations.
