Exercises are common practice in the Air Force. Recently the 72nd Air Base Wing Inspector General Inspections team ran a myriad of scenarios designed to stress test first responders and security forces units. More than 225 participants were involved ranging from “victims,” “crowd,” and responders. Unit WIT members were also on hand to evaluate unit effectiveness. Exercises are used to demonstrate operational readiness no matter the scenario. They are performed often and with the goal of developing muscle memory to adapt and act swiftly.
