U.S. Marine Corps officers with the combined coordination center ask and respond to questions for an information brief between the combined joint force during a command post exercise for Balikatan 23 at Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines, April 19, 2023. Balikatan 23, the 38th iteration of the annual bilateral exercise, included a bilateral command post exercise that strengthened the Allies’ ability to plan, coordinate and provide command and control of maneuver forces in a contested battlespace. Exercises such as Balikatan increase our ability to work together across the spectrum of military operations to respond to crises, support the local population and accomplish our shared mission.
