Maj. Gen. Jonathan M. Stubbs, the adjutant general of the Arkansas National Guard, spoke at the closing ceremony for CENTAM Guardian 2023 held at the historic La Aurora Airfield, home to the Guatemalan Air Force, March 27, 2023.
CENTAM Guardian 2023, a joint military training exercise with Guatemalan, Honduran, and El Salvadorian military units participating, focused on analyzing procedures and developing strategies to combat Transnational Criminal Organizations by emphasizing interagency coordination and utilizing the exercise for cooperative action and information sharing to strengthen regional security.
Stubbs emphasized the long-lasting positive effects for the cooperation between the partner nations beyond the training exercise to create a foundation that facilitates real time operations for humanitarian aid and natural disaster assistance.
60 Arkansas National Guardsmen took part in the exercise to assist in training and strengthen the relationship between the state of Arkansas and our state partner, Guatemala.
CENTAM Guardian 2023 is an annual Army-led joint, interagency, a multi-national partnership-building exercise designed to build capacity and capabilities with Central American partner nations.
