U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) find and identify simulated improvised explosive devices while conducting a visit, board, search and seizure during Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (ARGMEUEX), Atlantic Ocean, April 17, 2023. Maritime Interception Operations are utilized to capture enemy vessels, combat terrorism, piracy, and smuggling. The 26th MEU provide geographic combatant commanders with a wide range of flexible capabilities including maritime security operations, crisis response, sea control, counter-terrorism, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
