Joseph Galvin, staff judge advocate for II Marine Expeditionary Force, awards Abby Talley, College of Dupage women's basketball coach, the Battle's Won Coaches Award during the 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association Convention award ceremony in Charlotte, N.C., on April 13, 2023. The Battles Won Coaches Award presented by the United States Marine Corps recognizes an individual who has shown perseverance in overcoming adversity while maintaining a strong academic profile. The Marine Corps' partnership with the NJCAA provides an opportunity for Marines to ensure the coaches of the next generation of Marines are aware of Marine Corps opportunities, provide advocacy and support recruiter access to prospect audiences which is critical to the defense of our Nation.
