U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Xavier Abreu, an ammunition technician with The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia, swims during the “Tarawa Atoll” event during the first Training and Education Command Fittest Instructor Competition at The Basic School on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, April 11, 2023. The Marines completed a 100-meter swim, followed by a set of unbroken hand release push ups. Each Marine was scored based on their individual Physical Fitness Test push up standards, those that did not complete their push up requirements had to restart the entire event.
