Karen D. H. Saunders, SES, the program executive officer for the Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), joins the leadership team in standing for the national anthem during the PEO STRI Acquisition Academy Apprentice Program (A3P) graduation ceremony, April 3. A3P is an 11-week program consisting of more than 400 hours of classroom instruction, as well as familiarization trips to military installations. Students in the spring 2023 class had various experience levels ranging from current PEO STRI employees to new government hires. Career fields represented included logistics management specialists, operations researchers, management analysts, budget analysts, financial specialists, computer scientists, electrical engineers, and computer engineers. Following graduation, students will begin a three-year rotational internship program with project managers and project leads across PEO STRI. (U.S. Army photo by Doug Schaub)
