Steelworker constructionman recruit, Amanda Peterson and constructionman apprentice, Derek Foley, both assigned with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1, holds a piece of scrap metal as constructionman apprentice, Nicholas Dalpozzo, practices cutting techniques with an oxygen-acetylene torch at Camp Ramadi, Iraq, on Feb. 2. NMCB 1 is part of more than 1,400 Sailors, Marines and Soldiers supporting critical construction efforts in the Al Anbar province of Iraq and is also currently deployed to several locations in the Middle East and Afghanistan providing responsive military construction support to U.S. military and coalition operations.
