The first National Security Cutter, the Bertholf, conducts its third contractor sea trials 45 miles off the coast of Mississippi, Monday, Feb. 11, 2008. Acceptance trials and delivery will follow later this spring. "There is still a great deal of work to do, but this is an important milestone," said Adm. Thad Allen, commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. "It's exciting to see the NSC getting closer to joining the Coast Guard's fleet." (U.S. Coast Guard photo/Petty Officer 2nd Class Thomas Blue)
