Mr. Jose Sanchez, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pacific Ocean Division Director of Regional Business, and Far East District members recently toured the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and Joint Security Area (JSA) while visiting FED and the Republic of Korea.
“Coming here really gives the team perspective on the unique mission that FED has in Korea,” said Col. Heather Levy, FED commander.
While there, the group ventured into Tunnel 3, one of four known tunnels under the border. They also viewed North Korea from an observatory and walked along the Korean border in the JSA. Lt. Col. Chris Mercado, UNCSB-JSA, provided a tour of Camp Bonifas while explaining their mission.
