One of the runners with the 37th Marine Corps Marathon carries the American Flag at the start of the "People's Marathon" in Arlington, Va., Oct. 28, 2012. The race started between Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon, between the country's fallen heroes and those actively protecting our nation. The 23,864 starters in the race came from across the United States and 47 countries to run in the world's ninth largest marathon.
