Weston Sewall, runner in the 37th Marine Corps Marathon, is motivated by a volunteer as he continues to run in the "People's Marathon." Many participants in the Marathon ran in honor of loved ones serving in the military, in memory of fallen loved ones and to raise awareness for a cause. The 23,864 starters in the race came from across the United States and 47 countries to run in the world’s ninth largest marathon. The Marine Corps Marathon was created to promote physical fitness, generate community goodwill and showcase the organizational skills of the Marine Corps. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
