Maxwell Air Force Base leadership held a viewing of the Vietnam Memorial for distinguished visitors, followed by an Operation Welcome Home Reception at the Maxwell Club. In attendance, was Capt. (Ret.) Gary Michael Rose, Medal of Honor recipient. Capt. Rose distinguished himself by acts of gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving as a Special Forces Medic with a company-sized exploitation force, 5th Special Forces Group, 1st Special Forces during Vietnam.
