U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Brandon Watts, a mobile facility technician with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 39, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), guides aviation support equipment as it is raised onto the Military Sealift Command Wright-class aviation logistics support ship SS Curtiss (T-AVB 4) on Naval Base San Diego, California, March 13, 2023. The Curtiss will function as an aviation logistics and sustainment platform to support aviation combat elements, demonstrate and validate expeditionary advanced basing operations and experiment with T-AVB capabilities during Exercise Immortal Warrior. Immortal Warrior is an exercise led by MALS-16, 3rd MAW and MALS-24, 1st MAW to demonstrate the opportune lift, forward depot-level aviation maintenance, and battle-damage repair capabilities that the T-AVB provides Marine aviation. Watts is an Omaha, Nebraska, native. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Joshua Brittenham)
