    172nd Airlift Wing

Airman 1st Class Mark O'Quinn, Tech. Sgt. David Moss and Staff Sgt. Corbin James check the rigging on a C-17 Globemaster III tail elevator before lifting it into place. Airmen of the 172nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Jackson, Mississippi, made base history by successfully replacing the first flight surface of a 172nd Airlift Wing aircraft using a mobile crane technique, developed over multiple planning and training sequences. With quality assurance managers on-hand throughout the process, these Airmen pioneered a technique that will aid in a more productive maintenance process for the Air National Guard's premiere Airlift Wing.
