U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 48th Fighter Wing demonstrate how to use the Laser Foreign Object Detector system to representatives from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, March 7, 2023. Since acquiring the LFOD system in 2021, the Liberty Wing has hosted multiple visits from other U.S. installations to showcase the capabilities and technology of the system, which has saved RAF Lakenheath more than 90 percent in annual resource costs previously spent on FOD walks.
