Chief Musicians Bryce Edwards, from Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Phillip Eberly, from Shillington, Pa., speak with students following the U.S. Navy Concert Band performance at Limon Public High School in Limon, Colo. Band director Greg Scherrer invited the Navy Band to Limon during their 2023 national tour to inspire his approximately 100-member 5 -12th grade band program students, in a district of 400, to continue to work hard to achieve their goals. Students had the opportunity to meet with band members and ask questions about their career paths before and after the performance. Visiting schools and playing for students allows the Navy Band to achieve one of its core missions; to help advance the field of music education, inspire a sense of service, and introduce students to Navy career opporunities they may not otherwise consider.
