U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Brittani Holtzel, a New Castle, Indiana native and radio operator with 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, 2d Marine Division, gives a speech after reenlisting during Marine Rotational Forces Europe (MRF-E) 23.1 in Setermoen, Norway, March 3, 2023.
“[What keeps me motivated is] My friends, they are awesome,” said Holtzel. “[They are the ones who get me out of bed] like you know if you don't get out of bed then their lives are just gonna be harder and then it’s like you get up and you're both doing the same dumb stuff, but you're doing it together, and it brings you closer together.”
MRF-E focuses on regional engagements throughout Europe by conducting various exercises, mountain-warfare training, and military-to-military engagements, which enhances the overall interoperability of the U.S. Marine Corps with allies and partners. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Megan Ozaki)
