Army Sgt. Vanessa Lawson, a Minnesotan Citizen-Soldier with the 334th Brigade Engineer Battalion and a local business owner, combined her leadership skills with her passion for fashion and building community by hosting the first ever fashion exhibit in honor of Black History Month at the Minnesota State Capitol, February 25, 2023.
“The goal of this event is to shine a positive light on the Black community,” said Army Sgt. Amy Lawson. “My hope is that the audience will be able to see that the Black community is not monolithic. There is so much diversity within diversity.”
