Member attached to the Mersin International Port loads humanitarian assistance to the Ministry of Interior Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) from The USS Hershel ‘Woody’ Williams, a U.S. Naval Vessel in Mersin, Türkiye, Feb. 28, 2023. The USS Hershel ‘Woody’ Williams delivered 113 pallets of humanitarian aid, totaling nearly 40,000 lbs. to our ally, Türkiye as part of Task Force 61/2’s continued humanitarian support to the people of Türkiye. The Task Force 61/2 (TF 61/2) is operating under U.S. Sixth Fleet, U.S. Naval Forces Europe (NAVEUR), and U.S. European Command as part of the international Turkish disaster relief efforts.
