U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. William Skiles, an intelligence specialist, with Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts a shooting drill aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6), in the Philippine Sea, Feb. 26, 2022. The deck shoot allowed the Marines of BLT 1/4 to maintain readiness and hone their technical skills in a dynamic environment. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
