Sailors, assigned to the Warlords of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 51, fire their weapons during an M16 qualification shoot aboard the forward deployed Ticonderoga-Class guided-missile cruiser USS Cowpens (CG 63). Cowpens is part of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group, the U.S. Navy's only continuously forward deployed carrier strike group based out of Yokosuka, Japan, and is currently conducting a routine Western Pacific patrol in support of regional security and stability of the vital Asia-Pacific region.
