This week U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command hosted a Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force Delegation consisting of the Quartermaster Commandant and Head of Logistics, Maj. Gen. Tsunehiro Yanagida.
Maj. Gen. Yanagida met with Maj. Gen. Mark T. Simerly, CASCOM commanding general, where the two exchanged gifts symbolizing the interoperability between our Armies.
The Delegation also met with senior leaders from the Army Logistics/Sustainment University, Quartermaster School, Ordnance School, and Transportation School.
Topics discussed: Organizational-Structural, Objectives within Army 2030, Airborne Topographic Mapper (MAT-APM) and Maneuverable Canopy (MC-6) Trainer, BCT Restructure, JLTV capabilities, and 3D printing.
This opportunity encouraged the exploration of sustainment enterprises in support of security initiatives, advance alliance capabilities, and to shape areas of mutual interest throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
