The U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) and Fort Lee hosted a Congressional staff delegation (STAFFDEL) visit with the Military Legislative Assistants (MLAs) responsible for managing military and veteran affairs on behalf of U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, U.S. Rep. Jen Kiggans, and U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott.
During the visit, the group met with Maj. Gen. Mark T. Simerly, CASCOM commanding general, and Command Sgt. Maj. Marco A. Torres, CASCOM Command Sgt. Maj, and other senior leaders for an overview brief on CASCOM operations pertaining to Quality of Life, Sustainment DOTMLPF-P Modernization efforts, CASCOM Support to Army Recruiting and a driving tour of the installation.
The delegation departed with a shared understanding of the CASCOM and Fort Lee mission and wishes to return for a supplementary visit to enable deeper discussion and an opportunity to observe Soldiers in training.
