SINGAPORE (Feb. 13, 2023) Staffers from the House Armed Services Committee and Sailors assigned to Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Oakland (LCS 24) tour the flight deck and observe an SH-60R Seahawk, attached to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35 aboard Oakland at Changi Naval Base, Singapore, Feb. 13, 2023. Oakland, part of Destroyer Squadron 7, is on a rotational deployment, operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with Allies and partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
