Cmdr. Brian Finman, commanding officer of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), welcomes more than 70 visitors in the well deck while anchored off the coast of Timor-Leste. Rushmore's embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit begins training with the Timor Leste Defense Force (F-FDTL) as part of Exercise Crocodilo. Crocodilo is a multilateral exercise that promotes partnership though community service and training with F-FDTL. Rushmore, along with the embarked 15th MEU, is a part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group and is currently underway on deployment. The U.S. Navy is constantly deployed to preserve peace, protect commerce, and deter aggression through forward presence. Join the conversation on social media using #warfighting.
