SINGAPORE (Feb. 7, 2023) Sonar Technician (Surface) 2nd Class Kevan Thomas, from Indian Head, Maryland, uses a bow hook to secure lines above an 11-meter rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RIB) while conducting twin boom extendable crane (TBEC) operations aboard Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Oakland (LCS 24), Changi Naval Base, Singapore, Feb. 7, 2023. Oakland, part of Destroyer Squadron 7, is on a rotational deployment, operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with Allies and partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
