GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Jan. 23, 2023) Gunner's Mate 1st Class Nathan A. Fontaine, an instructor at Surface Combat Systems Training Command Great Lakes, explains the recoil felt while firing an M18 pistol during a small arms training demonstration for Nordic Defense Cooperation Master Chief Petty Officers of the Navy (MCPON), in on the virtual firearm simulator at Gunner's Mate "A" School during a visit to Naval Station Great Lakes accession training sites. The visit included tours and a discussion of the recruitment of Sailors through their A school training and hosted MCPONs from Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
