Though he couldn’t be there to see them off, actor and musician Gary Sinise offered words of encouragement to the family members. “While our hearts are heavy at the circumstance that brought everyone together today, I am grateful we can honor these deserving family members, remembering their loved ones who are no longer with us,” he said. As we wrap our arms each and every one of you, we do not forget, and this amazing event allows the American people, who support the Gary Sinise Foundation, to bring some joy and new, happy memories to this special group.”
