PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 13, 2022) – Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Ryan Swan, right, shows a clear and safe M9 pistol to Intelligence Specialist 1st Class Vincent Cadigal during a dry fire/weapons familiarization course aboard amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), Nov. 13, 2022. The dry fire/weapons familiarization course gets Sailors familiar with small arms before a scheduled live-fire gun shoot, which will provide them with sufficient manpower for proper watchstanding in foreign and domestic ports. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks Anchorage and USS John P.
