YOKOSUKA, Japan (Dec. 13, 2022) — Command Master Chief Robert Beachy, assigned to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) hands out a Japanese daikon radish to a pedestrian at Yokosuka Chuo Station during an event raising awareness of drunk driving during the holiday season. “Daikon” is a play on words as it is close to the Japanese word “daikonzetsu”, meaning eradication (of drunk driving). For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet’s forward deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
