During the Camp Ripley Garrison Command change of command ceremony, Army Col. Joshua Simer, the outgoing commander, presents an oil painting by David Geister called The Liberators to incoming commander Army Col. Bryce Erickson, December 10, 2022 at Camp Ripley near Little Falls, Minnesota.
“This is a good reminder to you and the rest of the Garrison of two things,” said Simer. “What happens away from the battlefield is just as important, just as historically meaningful as to what happens on the battlefield.
