Jackson Purfeerst, Crosslake, Minnesota, council member elect, left, and Cindy Myogeto, Crosslake, Minnesota, Chamber of Commerce director, prepare bags of kettle corn at the 9th annual Light Up the Dam celebration at the Cross Lake Dam and Recreation Area in Crosslake Dec. 3. The annual event is a grassroots effort that includes the Crosslake Chamber of Commerce, Light Up the Dam committee, PAL Foundation, Crosslake-Ideal Lions Club, city of Crosslake, as well as volunteers and USACE staff. The event included crafts, kettle corn made over a campfire and a visit from Santa Claus.
