U.S. Army Corps of Engineers teammates from the Savannah District were in Cleveland, Ohio, November 15, 2022, with Buffalo District recent retired annuitant/Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Eugene Lenhardt and Geotechnical Engineer, Ricky Liang, drilling for core samples in the waterways of the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie. This drilling is necessary to determine the stability of containment dikes for the planned dewatering facility at Confined Disposal Facility 12 (CDF12), by obtaining environmental samples inside the planned dewatering facility.
