Alaska Air National Guard Majors Dan Kozak, left, and Matt Soukup, both pilots with the 211th Rescue Squadron, enjoy a vibrant Alaskan sunset as they fly Santa, Mrs. Claus and three dozen help elves to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson via 176th Wing HC-130J Combat King II aircraft after completing Operation Santa Claus in Nuiqsut. Operation Santa Claus is the Alaska National Guard’s yearly community relations and support program that provides gifts to children in remote communities across the state. In partnership with the Salvation Army, Santa, Mrs. Claus and more than three dozen elves delivered 1,420 pounds of gifts, backpacks, hygiene supplies, and books to 191 children in Nuiqsut.
