Looking for ways to refuel Santa’s sleigh, Alaska Air National Guard Master Sgt. Alex Narveson, 168th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, teaches Santa how the KC-135 Stratotanker can refuel other aircraft in mid-flight during Operation Santa Claus Nov. 22, 2022. Operation Santa Claus is the Alaska National Guard’s yearly community relations and support program that provides gifts to children in remote communities across the state. After landing at Eielson AFB, Santa and more than a dozen helper elves transferred to two Alaska Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopters and delivered 650 pounds of gifts, backpacks, hygiene supplies, and books to 65 children in Minto.
