Chief Master Sgt. Kim Groat, Alaska Air National Guard state command chief, center, and community partners, organized and prepared for Santa’s visit with the children at a school in Minto, Alaska, during Operation Santa. Operation Santa Claus is the AKNG’s yearly community relations and support program that provides gifts to children in remote communities across the state. With help from the Salvation Army and many volunteers, the program delivered 650 pounds of presents, backpacks, hygiene supplies and books to approximately 65 children in Minto.
