Navy Medicine and Readiness Training Center San Diego's Diversity Committee hosted a Native American Indian Heritage Month event to recognize and honor the contributions and service of Native Americans who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces of the United States, Nov. 22, 2022. Hospital Corpsman Master Chief, Crystal Ingram Shannon Bia, Command Master Chief of Expeditionary Medical Facility Bravo, shared her experiences as a Native American during the ceremony with stories about her heritage, culture and people. NMRTC San Diego's mission is to prepare service members to deploy in support of operational forces, deliver high quality healthcare services and shape the future of military medicine through education, training and research. NMRTC employs more than 6,000 active duty military personnel, civilians and contractors in Southern California to provide patients with world-class care anytime, anywhere.
