Brig. Gen. Steven Kremer, assistant adjutant general, carries the ceremonial wreath to place by late President Herbert Hoover’s gravesite Oct. 22, 2022, at the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site in West Branch, Iowa. Kremer was invited to present the wreath at this ceremony to honor the president, who grew up in West Branch and passed away Oct. 20, 1964. This 58-year anniversary of Hoover’s death was recognized by the West Branch community and Hoover’s great granddaughter, Leslie Hoover Lauble. This was the first time in two years this event was held due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Rachel I. White)
