The cutter Shamal (WPC-13) is a rapid moving vessel, one of three 179-foot cyclone class patrol boats on loan to the Coast Guard by the U.S. Navy. The cutter is homeported in Pascagoula, Miss. When deployed in support of Coast Guard Sector Key West and District Seven, its crew conducts search and rescue, migrant interdiction and counter-narcotics operations and patrols.
