A U.S. Army Soldier from 95th Chemical Company, 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 11th Airborne Division, with Marines from across III Marine Expeditionary Force, and members from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s 102nd Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Company, pull a simulated casualty to a decontamination tent during a mass casualty exercise as part of Keen Sword 23, at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 12.
During the exercise, the units reacted to a suspected attack and detected contaminants, identified and removed casualties, and conducted decontamination as a joint, bilateral force. Exercise Keen Sword Is a biennial, bilateral training evolution that strengthens the U.S.-Japan Alliance and ensures security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
