    A Japan Ground Self-Defense Force 102nd Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Company member detects for contamination during a mass casualty exercise as part of Keen Sword 23, at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 12.
    Along with soldiers from the U.S. Army’s 95th Chemical Company, 17th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 11th Airborne Division, and Marines from across III Marine Expeditionary Force, the units reacted to a suspected attack and detected contaminants, identified and removed casualties, and conducted decontamination as a joint, bilateral force. Exercise Keen Sword Is a biennial, bilateral training evolution that strengthens the U.S.-Japan Alliance and ensures security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.
