NAVAL BASE GUAM (Oct. 24, 2022) Sailors, civilians, and military families gathered to witness the initiation of several of the region’s newest chief petty officers during a pinning ceremony at Top o’ the Mar onboard U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) in Nimitz Hill Oct. 21.
The 13 newly pinned chiefs, represented the following commands:
- NBG
- Commander, Joint Region Marianas
- Naval Hospital Guam
- 30th Naval Construction Regiment
- Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11
- Naval Recruiting Office Guam
- Priority Management Office
- Naval Munitions Command East Asia Division Unit Guam and
- Maritime Prepositioning Ships Squadron 3/Military Sealift Command Guam
As chief petty officer selectees they endured six weeks of chief formation, which included physical training, naval heritage education, honing of the Navy’s core values, and leadership and teamwork training sessions.
