The 45th Annual Free Press Marathon in Detroit, Mich., on October 16, 2022, included the addition of a 'Military Mile' to the race course. The Military Mile was hosted by Veterans Connected and featured huge American flags draped from elevated crane arms, Soldiers, and military vehicles.
Veterans Connected was joined by TeamRWB and Freedom River. Together they convened on the Military Mile and provided support to racers with music, water, Gatorade, food, and cheers with the intention of raising awareness for PTSD and the rising Veteran suicide rate.
