An Afghan linguist smashes a ball for a six-point score during a ceremonial cricket match played by the Afghan National Army 203rd Thunder Corps' Lightning cricket team at Forward Operating Base Thunder, Oct. 15, 2012. The first match was an opportunity to test the new cricket pad on the Kandak Training Ground. The field of packed dirt supports ANA soldier training by day and soccer and cricket matches after work.
