YOKOSUKA, Japan (Oct. 16, 2022) – Hull Technician 2nd Class Ryan Misuraca demonstrates the proper wear of a fire fighting ensemble for members of the Japanese press during a tour aboard U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) as part of Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka’s first Friendship Day celebration since the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic. The open base event highlights the partnership between the U.S. Navy and the host nation of Japan. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific Region.
