Seven U.S. Air Force veterans and their spouses tour the 125th Fighter Wing, Florida Air National Guard in Jacksonville, Florida, Oct. 12, 2022. The Vietnam-era pilots are all graduates from the 1967 pilot training course held at the now-defunct Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas. The pilots flew an assortment of aircraft to include the F-4 Phantom II, C-141 Starlifter and LTV A-7 Corsair II, among others, during the war fight in Vietnam. During the visit, U.S. Air Force Col. Mansour Elhihi, 125th Operations Group commander, shared the Wing's vast mission sets, the upcoming F-35 Lightning II conversion, and the National Guard's role supporting the National Defense Strategy. The veterans, now scattered across the U.S., have been reuniting the Jacksonville area for over 12 years to rekindle old friendships and bond over their shared experience of serving in the Air Force.
