221007-N-XB010-1001 Philippine Sea (Oct. 7, 2022) – Sailors assigned to the forward-deployed amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) manage the well deck as Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) prepare to disembark from the stern gate on a combat ready rubber craft (CRRC). New Orleans, part of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
